Print View: A Responsive Print UI for Your Employees

Stop Installing Software. Start Printing.
Every label project ends the same way: someone has to show employees how to print. Install a driver, learn a desktop app, memorize the five clicks to the right template. And as soon as a new hire starts, the whole cycle repeats.
Print View removes that step entirely.
A Print View is a responsive web print UI generated from one of your saved designs. It runs in any browser - desktop, tablet, or phone - with no installation, no drivers, and no training. You create it once, and your employees just open a link.
How It Works
1. Design your label in the zplCloud designer and save it.
2. Create a Print View: choose which fields your employees may fill in and which stay locked (article number, quantity, destination, ...).
3. Share the link - or print a QR code and stick it on the wall next to the printer.
That's it. An employee scans the QR with their phone, fills in the form, and hits Print.
Fields for Real Work
Print Views are not a single text box. The form is built from the variables in your design:
- Text fields with placeholders and validation - for order numbers, quantities, names.
- Dropdowns that pull their options from a data source (e.g. your article catalog) - no more typos in EANs.
- Checkboxes for options that change the label (express, fragile, return).
- QR / barcode scanner buttons right next to the input: tap the 📷 icon and scan the code straight into the field - perfect for mobile workflows.
Live Preview, Then Print
Every Print View shows a live PDF preview of the label while the employee types. What you see is what gets printed - no surprises on the label roll.
Printing goes directly to a connected printer:
- Weblink printer - the job is relayed to the printer in your network over the secure outbound connection. No inbound ports, no firewall changes.
- PDF - download or open the print dialog for a local or network printer.
Your Data Stays Yours
A Print View only exposes the fields you explicitly chose. Values are validated server-side against the design, access is controlled per user, and the underlying design is never shown to the employee.
From Setup to First Printout: Minutes
1. Save a design in the designer.
2. Create the Print View and pick the visible fields.
3. Copy the link or generate a QR code.
4. Done - your employees are printing.
No app store, no driver CD, no 45-minute onboarding call. Give them a link, let them scan - and you're ready to go.
